Seeing this review really makes me want to check out the Skycity place in Auckland in person! 🧐 Since it's been running for so long, do you think the atmosphere feels more established and high-volume, or is it still kinda new? I'm just trying to get a real sense of the vibe on the floor. πŸ™

The established feel is definitely there since they started in 1996. The high volume on the floor is real.
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

High volume yes, but don't confuse that with loose, mate πŸ˜„ been going down to Auckland on and off since the late 90s and that floor has always had a busy, settled hum to it. The pokies section now feels different from the old days though, all screens and bonus buys, nothing like the simple three-reelers that used to actually pay you a visit when you were down. Still, for a young fella checking it out first time, the vibe's genuine. Established since '96 means the staff know what they're doing, the cage cashes you out without drama, and there's plenty of table action if pokies go dead on you. Just take a set amount and treat the rest as the price of a night out, that's how I've always played it.

Yeah, "high volume" and "paying" are two different animals and Steve nailed it. I've been through the SkyCity floor a few times and it's exactly that, busy, settled, been humming since 1996 under the DIA licence and all that means for the punter is steady, tight pokies. Go for the night out, don't expect the machines to fund it.
Hype isn't a payout.

Honestly, dealing with that volume and the tight payouts requires serious bankroll discipline from the punter. It’s never just about the sheer number of players on the floor, it’s about surviving the long sessions when the hits aren't frequent. I've watched too many guys blow up trying to find one big win in a setup like that. πŸ”₯
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.

Since it has been around since 1996, I guess the floor just feels really settled and huge. Definitely a big setup.
Learning to clear wagering, go easy πŸ™

@FreespinLord huge setup for sure, but settled β‰  paying. Paul's spot on, pokies are tight as. Still had a cheeky hit on Lightning Link there last year πŸ”₯🎰

Tight pokies yeah but I still rate the place, my one Skycity session on Lightning Link turned NZ$60 into a good NZ$640 night and I was buzzing for days πŸ€‘πŸ”₯ Steve's right about bankroll though, I've done my arse there plenty other times lol. You blokes going up for a visit or just weighing it up?
