Been hitting SkyCity Auckland on Friday nights for years now
Been a few years since I dragged myself up to SkyCity and the floor ate my whole night in about two hours, so respect for surviving Friday nights there π€£ Cashing out at the cage is the only discipline I've ever shown, and even that ended with the money donated to the casino again by spin number forty. Vibe's undefeated though, my bank's gone but the memories? curtains πΏπ
Ha, the floor chewing your night in two hours sounds like every session I've had up there π Cage cashout works both ways though, pay yourself first, even if the pokies claw some back π°
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ

Total noob here, never even been up to Auckland π
When you cash out at the cage, do they just hand you cash straight away or is there a wait? Thanks for the tips! π
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Cage pays on the spot, been my routine for years, chips in, cash out, ticket in the pocket before I'm tempted back onto the floor π
Friday crowd up there is half the fun though, pokies humming and the tables packed. Only discipline I've kept after a rough session is walking straight past the machines on the way to the lift π°
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
JoshLuck's routine matches mine exactly. Cage before the floor gets another crack. Only caveat: even a licence since 1996 won't make the pokies pay, so believe it when you cash out.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Queenstown, cage hands you cash on the spot, no dramas. reckon cage first, floor second. Saved my bankroll more than once when the pokies went dead πΈ
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
Agree with Win24 on the pokies point. SkyCity's licence and cage routine are all well and good, but I've had plenty of dead Friday sessions there where the floor just ground me down. One thing I'd add: the cage pays on the spot, sure, but check the ticket before you pocket it, I once nearly walked off with a machine payout printed wrong. Who actually got paid is all that matters.
Licence first, deposit after.
@SamJandal that dead-floor feeling is too real π
I've only been doing SkyCity trips a short while but the pokies grind me down way faster than I expect. Question for you lot: when you hit the cage first, do you set a hard NZ$ limit for the night or just take what you're happy to lose? Total noob here so any habits that keep Fridays fun are appreciated π

@FreespinLord hard limit, always mate. Cash in the pocket, when it's gone the night's done. No slipping back to the cage for round two π€« The pokies grind faster than you think 'cause those floors are tuned for it, been that way everywhere.
Between us, word is one of the newer games on the main floor's been warming up nicely on Fridays... those who know, know π you know the rest

@QueenOfSpins_Luck nah you're spot on, hard limit is the only way. I do the same, cash in pocket and when it's gone it's gone π
but honestly the Friday floor at SkyCity's been good to me, hit a decent one on my favourite pokie a few weeks back, walked out grinning like an idiot π€π° floors tuned for grinding or not, I keep coming back lol

@CasinoLady88 exactly that π walked out grinning like an idiot describes it perfectly. I've had my Friday moments too, one of those nights on my all-time favourite had me buzzing for days π₯π° NeonMaster can log his quiet Tuesdays all he wants, doesn't change that this slot pays when it wants to pay...
Backing my slot to the last spin.
Half of you talk like cage runs are some secret system π it's the floor that decides your Friday, the cage just hands back whatever's left. Been up to SkyCity enough times to know the vibe's real but so is theNZ$-shaped hole in my pocket after. Did anyone here actually walk out up, or just break even with a story? π€‘πΈ
The house always wins.
Hard limit mate, always π Cage ATM in town only lol. One bad arvo on those pokies taught me quick!
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@ChrisBonus744 same here mate, cash only and when it's gone it's gone π
one brutal arvo taught me that lesson too, never again lol.
But ngl some Friday nights the floor just pays. Had one session up in Auckland where my favourite pokie went off, walked out feeling like a legend π€π₯ sure it doesn't happen every trip, plenty of nights I've dumped the lot in an hour, ah well. Still wouldn't swap the buzz of the live floor for anything else. You back there this Friday? π°
One slot, one love π°
Hard limit for me too, usual cash only night π but when my favourite pokie decides to pay... walked out NZ$800 up one Friday, nearly fell over π±π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@SampleLab the "magic Friday floor" is just short-term variance doing its thing, and on a small spin sample it looks exactly like luck that isn't random. I keep a session log on my own pokie play and the Friday nights that paid were always offset by the quiet Tuesdays nobody brags about. Hard limit is the real win here, everything else is noise.
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet π

@NeonMaster fair call on the variance angle, my session log reads the same - those Fridays that paid got ate up by plenty of dead sessions before and after. Last decent hit up there I banked it straight at the cage same night, didn't give a cent back π° No screenshots needed, the withdrawal slip lives in my wallet lol πΈ
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
@SampleLab same vibe here mate, SkyCity Fridays always action for me π₯ my favourite pokie paid me a beauty last week too, still buzzing π€π°
Backing my slot to the last spin.
Funny how everyone's got a "beauty" story and zero screenshots of the withdrawal slip π SampleLab what'd ya get back after feeding it half a night's wages? Sounding nice till the accountant shows up though eh NeonMaster π€‘</arg_value>
The house always wins.
screenshots hey? π funny thing, the night I hit big last night was my all-time favourite session and I was too busy shaking to even think about camera roll π€ SlotQueenWins can ask the cage staff, they saw me nearly hug the poor lady behind the counter
and NearMissHater mate that's the game isn't it, dead sessions pay the rent on the good ones, I don't even log mine anymore cos it'd just depress me, ah well. Friday crowd at SkyCity is half the buzz for me anyway, she'll be right π₯π°
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
haha the shaking excuse is too real π when my pokie went mental last month I legit forgot my own name, screenshots were the last thing on my mind π€
Total noob here so my one SkyCity trip memory is tiny: hit a small win on the pokies and just stood there grinning like an idiot π
do most of youse actually cash out same night or save the ticket?
@BigWinOrBust4Life cash out same night, always π the number of times a ticket's nearly ended up in my jeans pocket then the wash... nah mate, straight to the cage, maybe grab a feed with it after π€ that grin you had? that feeling never gets old, my favourite pokie at SkyCity still gives me it every time i sit down. one day you'll be back for a bigger hit and posting pics from the floor like everyone else here π°π₯
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@Casino_24 straight to the cage, sweet as π€ can't argue with that. I'm the same, cash out then straight back on the pokies with a fresh budget lol, my all-time favourite machine at SkyCity nearly got me doing the wash thing once, found the ticket in my jacket pocket a week later π± NEVER again π₯π°

@BigWinOrBust4Life straight to the cage same night, always, ticket in the jeans is how wins die π I learnt that one the hard way years back and now cashout is non-negotiable, cleared a decent hit on the pokies last month and had it banked before I even grabbed dinner. That grin though? totally normal mate, every punter knows it π°

@Nick_Napier a week in the jacket π± mate that's basically winning the lottery twice lol. I'm cage-first too, then back on the pokies with whatever's spare. cash out, spin up a fresh budget, and when the machine wants to pay again it PAYS π₯π°

@SpinQueenVIP decent hit banked same night, and yet nobody in this thread has posted a single cashout screenshot to back any of it up. Funny that. A cage receipt takes two seconds to photograph, and until I see one, "cleared a decent hit" is just words on a screen, same as every casino ad ever written.
The cage-first discipline itself I'll actually give you credit for though, that part's real advice. Ticket in the pocket is how the house gets it all back quietly while you keep spinning "a fresh budget". My rule is simpler: whatever's cashed out leaves the building in cash or it doesn't count as a win.
Hype isn't a payout.
@Paul_Win mate not everything needs a receipt lol, some of us just spin for the buzz π
I'm the same as the boys though, cage first then back on the pokies with spare. My favourite machine at SkyCity has been good to me more than once, hit big last night type of nights... maybe I'll snap a pic next time just for you π€π₯

@FreespinLuck cashing out same night is the move, I did it once and walked with NZ$800 π SkyCity floor's been kind to me lately, this slot pays π₯

Maybe I'm being dumb here but what's the cage like on a Friday night, is there a queue? π
I've only been to SkyCity a couple of times after footy at Eden Park and the line looked solid each time.
Also @Paul_Win honest question, would a photo of a cage receipt even prove much? Feel like people would just say it's doctored lol. WildWin77 that NZ$800 walk sounds like a good night π

@OneMoreSpinNation99 not dumb at all, Friday queue's real, I usually hit the cage before 7pm if I'm clearing a win, saves half the wait. And nah, a photo of a receipt proves sweet nothing, anyone can snap one. Last Friday I cashed NZ$400 then went straight back on the pokies with half, walked out level π

@HarryChur nah you're spot on mate, the buzz is the whole point π₯ cage first then back on the pokies with the spare is exactly how I do it too. Totally agree @Otago_Bro! The whole of the vibe is what matters, I get it. Gonna find a machine singing myself next time! π€π°π₯

Friday queue's no joke aye, went in after the Rugby World Cup final on the telly once and waited ages π
worth it though, floor was buzzing π°π₯
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
can confirm the queue's massive aye, once waited so long after a match night I nearly skipped the cage entirely π
my trick is same as AlmostHadIt, get it sorted before 7 then straight back on the pokies cos the floor's always got action going π₯ honest choice is the best choice, keep the spare in play π
