Pokies floor at Imperial Casino is smaller than I expected
Smaller than you imagined too? I've only been the once and thought the same, walked in expecting way more pokies and honestly did a lap twice before picking a machine 😅 Still had a good night though, which surprised me.
Quick question since you went last night - how was the cage when you cashed out? I got out fine but the queue moved at what I can only call a scenic pace, stood there watching the ceiling for ages. Is it always like that or did I just pick a busy night?

Cage queue took forever, yeah. Scenic is being generous 😭 walked my NZ$ out at a pace a snail would call slow, but at least no drama at the counter. Floor being compact suits me actually, less wandering means more spins per hour if you pick your machine fast.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Slower cage here than the one up in Auckland by a mile, mate. Small floor does mean faster spins though - hit a decent run on the pokies and still had it banked before the queue budged 😭🎰
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
Small floor I can live with, fewer machines usually means they're not quietly shaving the returns across a sprawling bank of them. Cage paid me fine last visit too, just slow enough that I finished my coffee standing in line. Compact venue, no drama at the counter, and I walked out with actual NZ$ in hand. That's a decent night by my standards.
Licence first, deposit after.
Small floor grew on me by the second lap, didn't need to hunt for a machine that was actually paying 😅 Cashout at the cage went smooth, no drama at all, just had time to nearly finish my drink before the counter even looked my way 😭 Next trip I'm banking my hits mid-session instead of carrying the whole night's NZ$ to one queue.

That scenic queue is real, went there a few weeks back and had the same, cage girl was lovely but she processed one punter while I cleared three machines' worth of hits 🎰 Funny thing was the floor being small meant my usual session budget lasted twice as long, hit and walked to the line early. Slower banking beats rushing back into a dead machine any day 💸

Haven't been yet but you lot are selling me on it 😅 small floor and a slow cage sounds good as gold if it means my NZ$ lasts longer. Might do a lap this weekend 🎰

@AlmostHadIt_FC69 "didn't need to hunt for a machine that was actually paying", that's the bit I'd want evidence for, since no machine is "paying" in any knowable sense on a given night. Smooth cage is genuinely good though, plenty of venues make you wait far longer than one drink. Did you actually bank anything worth the queue, or just small hits?
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Win24's right that no machine's "paying" on cue, but a tight floor does slow your bet pace down naturally. Cheapest bankroll discipline tool going 💸

@SpinQueenVIP spot on, the tight floor made me pace myself without even trying lol. Hopped on my all-time favourite while the cage queue crawled and it SMACKED late in the session 🎰🔥 honestly forgot I was annoyed about the wait by then 💸

@Queenstown do the lap, trust me 😂 I went in expecting nothing and walked out up NZ$340 on my favourite off one session, still grinning about it 🤑 small floor just means less wandering, more spinning. Slow cage is honestly a blessing, your NZ$ survives way longer 💰🎰
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
@MegaQueen nice result, but chalk that NZ$340 up to variance rather than the floor layout. One session tells you nothing about a machine - your spin sample is tiny, maybe a few hundred spins at best, and that's well within the range where a high-volatility game can swing either way. The house edge grinds on whether you're grinning or cursing.
What I'd actually agree with: a tight floor does cut the wandering time, which lowers spins per hour, which genuinely slows your expected loss rate in NZ$ terms. That part holds up mathematically. Win24's point stands too though, no machine is "due" or "hot" in any measurable sense, hit rate matters more than RTP for how a session feels, and both are fixed long-term properties you can't read off a cabinet. 📊 Still, stoked for you. Did you note which title it was?
RTP is a long-run number.
RobReels mate let us dream a bit 😂 variance or not that NZ$340 night feels like a holiday to me. Slow cage and a tight floor is a underrated combo, worked for me last night too 🎰💰
@Bach_15 nah that night lives rent free in my head too, some wins you just remember forever no matter what Rob says 😂 The tight floor does it for me as well, straight from the door to my favourite and I'm spinning in two minutes. Took NZ$120 off the cage last visit and it lasted ages, ah well, good vibes win 🤑🔥
One slot, one love 🎰

@RotoruaNZ same here, walk in and I'm on my all-time favourite before the jacket's off 😂 small floor means less mucking around, love it 🔰🎰
Backing my slot to the last spin.
I’ve heard the cage wait is proper long sometimes. Is it even possible to clear my bonus quickly if the lines are always crazy? 🤔

@Steve_Bonus go early evening, cage is dead quiet then. Cleared mine in one visit last week no drama 🤑
@BonusPro can vouch for that, went in around 5ish once and the cage had two staff leaning on the counter bored. worst time is Friday night, queued longer than at the bakery on a Sunday 😄 not a bad trade though, floors this size mean the good old games like Tomb Raider are still findable, they'd have buried them in a big joint years ago.
Been grinding longer than some have played.
Less clutter definitely helps me stick to the plan and manage my bankroll properly while hunting for hits.
