Imperial Casino feels a bit underwhelming for the hype
I only did one trip to Imperial so take this with a grain of salt, but I felt the same. The pokies were spread so far apart it felt like walking through a half-empty warehouse, even on a busy Friday night. Hard out the strangest floor layout I've seen. Didn't help the vibe at all, felt like everyone was on their own little island.
Kept wondering if it was just me being new to all this 😅 Does anyone know if they ever pack the machines closer on weekends, or is that spacing just permanent?
New here, soaking it up.
Huge gaps between the pokies, yeah. Makes the whole atmosphere feel flat, even when the machine is hitting big.
Bankroll discipline wins 💸

Fair comment, but I'd push back a touch on the "flat" bit. I've been in floors so crammed you couldn't hear your own machine over the neighbour's, and believe me that's not atmosphere either, that's just noise. Still, you two have a point about Imperial. There's spread out and then there's cavernous, and from what I saw on a busy night it leaned warehouse.
Funny thing is, when a machine does hit big in a room like that the sound just disappears into all that empty air. Turned 50 into a tidy little run there one arvo and barely anyone noticed, no buzz, nothing. Old-school grind needs a bit of crowd around it to feel alive, and they've spread the pokies thin enough to kill that. Could do with tightening the layout half a metre per bank and it'd change the whole mood 😄
Honestly, reading through all your points about the spacing makes me feel pretty deflated about my visit. 😔 It really sounds like those gaps between the pokies just kill the atmosphere, making the whole trip feel kinda underwhelming compared to the hype. Go easy on me, but maybe I just need to find a different venue next time instead of going back to Imperial.
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏
Funny how spacing changes everything. I sat at Imperial a while back and the machine I wanted was marooned on its own, no neighbours, and I swear my hit rate felt irrelevant because there was no buzz to feed off. Meanwhile at a cramped pub bank of pokies here in Masterton I've had dead sessions that still felt fun purely off the noise from the bloke two seats over.
xSpinValue, don't let the floor layout talk you out of the maths though. Whether a session pays depends on the volatility of whatever you pick, and that's identical whether you're hemmed in or sitting in a gap. Go for the games, treat the atmosphere as a bonus.
RTP is a long-run number.
Is the spacing that bad for the whole casino experience? 🤔 I didn't realise the layout affected the actual vibe like that.
Seriously, y'all need to stop focusing on the layout because I was there last night and the vibes were totally insane. My favourite machine just landed the biggest win ngl and honestly, nothing matters if you're hitting those massive payouts. There is always action at Imperial.
Backing my slot to the last spin.
