Chch Casino Review: A look at the Christchurch experience
been down there a few times over the years and yeah, the floor does have that settled, been-there-forever feel. makes sense when you realise they've been running since 1994, that's longer than some marriages i know 😄
i actually like it though. tables are proper, cage cashouts were painless when i had a decent night once, and the pokies side is decent without being flash. if you want glitz you're in the wrong building, this place is old-school comfort more than spectacle. worked for me more than once. worth a visit if you're in town anyway.
Am I the only one who actually likes a bit of shiny? 😅 The old floor feels proper though, and the cage was quick for me too. Keen to check it out myself.
New here, soaking it up.
Agree with the quick cage comments, that's been my experience too, cashed out and walked without drama. DIA licence is the baseline anyway, no excuses there. Older floor doesn't bother me either, pokies don't care what decade the carpet is from.
Hype isn't a payout.
been going since 94 and the machines still pay like they mean it, that's what i notice. old carpet, honest spins. my kind of place ah well, we grind on
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
funny thing, the "old" feel is half the reason i trust a place. been through chch a few times myself and that floor has seen more banks won and busted than most of us have had hot dinners. running since 94 under the dia, so they're not exactly fly-by-night, eh.
my tip for the young fella up there talking about shiny, give the older floor a proper go first. shiny is nice for ten minutes, then you realise the pokies pay the same either way. i turned 50 into 5k down south once on an old-school grind machine that looked older than me, and i've never repeated it since 😄 cage was smooth for me too. anyway that's my verdict, decent spot, worth the trip. see if anyone's still there at 3am though, that's where the real characters are 😉
