Good to hear the cashout went through without a song and dance, that cage queue on a Friday night is where most venues fall over, so credit where it's due. Packed pokies floor tells you the place is doing something right, though from a variance standpoint a busy floor means nothing about how a machine is set; RTP is a long-run thing and one Friday tells you diddly-squat.

Agree with Auckland_Legend on the crowd, seats were gone early when I was there too. I budgeted NZ$100 for the night, ran it at 50c a spin and cleared a bonus round on one of the newer pokies, cashed out slightly up before the tilt started. Honest question though: did the machine pay that on its own merits or were you playing a pub pokie with the return set low? Land-based venues run whatever RTP the operator chose, and the floor doesn't advertise it. Discipline paying is one thing; knowing what you were actually up against is another. No payout, no proof, the cage receipt settles both.
