Something odd on Fortune Casino floor last night. Anyone else notice?
Was in at Fortune Casino last week myself and now you've got me wondering if I walked straight past that corner π
I usually stick to the main bank of pokies near the bar and never really wander, so a whole section tucked away I'd never clocked is possible.
Is it a proper bank of machines or more like a overflow row they've wheeled in? Keen to know if they were actually switched on and taking play, because half the time stuff sitting dead in a corner is just there for show or being serviced π€ Also did the attendants say anything if you asked? Total noob here with land venues, been mostly working out bonuses and wagering on my first deposit so far, so any floor knowledge is gold. Cheers π
Was in there last Friday and copped the same corner, half the machines were dead quiet while the main bank near the bar was hammered - felt a bit sus honestly π
Walked a NZ$50 float through two of them at minimum bet per spin just to test the waters and nothing hit, didn't bother chasing. Keen to hear if anyone's actually cleared something off that bank before I waste another sesh on it π°
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ
Maybe dead machines just sit quiet because nobody wanders back there? I walked past that corner too and never gave it a second look until this thread π
Can't say I felt anything sus though, is a quiet bank of pokies actually against the rules under the Gambling Act, or just unpopular seating? Keen to hear if anyone's actually seen one of them pay.
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Quiet machines aren't illegal as far as anyone knows, no rule says pokies must pay because they're empty. But a whole corner nobody uses at Fortune? I'd want to see someone actually cash out off those before touching them.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
My mate swears the quiet machines pay better because no one's touched them, reckon that's just superstition though π
Might wander back there next visit just to see π°
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Machines don't "save up" payouts, my mate's NZ$200 in that corner says so π If it pays, it pays on the spin, not on the empty seat.
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
Yeah I'd side with NearMissHater here, a machine can't "know" it's been sitting quiet π
Mind you I'm still learning bonuses and this stuff is all a bit over my head, but from what I've read each spin is its own thing. That corner at Fortune still freaks me out a bit though, dead machines give me the creeps. Do you reckon venue staff ever move the loose machines around the floor?
New here, soaking it up.
Each spin its own thing, aye? That's what they told my contact at the club too π He's seen a dead corner suddenly wake up for a week straight though, coincidence, sure, maybe. But those who know, know.
Word is Fortune rotated some new machines into that bank recently, hence nobody touching them. Watch that corner next Friday night, that's all I'll say. You know the rest π€«
Those who know, know.
Honestly if a quiet corner paid better, everyone would just camp there and the "secret" would die in a day π
Each spin is its own thing surely.

Yeah nah, each spin being its own thing doesn't mean a corner can't run hot for a spell π I camp near the bar anyway. My favourite hit huge last night π€π°
Backing my slot to the last spin.
Tried that corner last night myself, dropped NZ$50, dead as π
Ah well, my all-time favourite machine near the bar is still paying so I ain't complaining π€π°
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
Gave that bank a quick go after work one arvo, put through NZ$20 on low bets hoping for a bonus round off the fresh machines⦠nothing.
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

@TrampingMad "hit huge" eh - how huge? Mine "hit" too, straight into the machine's pocket π€£ donated again, one more spin, promise ππΏ

@Auckland_Legend same, that corner was ice cold for me too π
but the bar machine saved my night, smacked a nice hit on it π₯π°

@Chur15 love how "one more spin, promise" turns into twenty, mate π classic punter maths. "Hit huge" usually means the machine flashed nice colours while swallowing the whole wallet, a win on paper, right π€‘πΈ
Funny thing is TrampingMad's probably got the right idea camping near the bar, at least you get a drink out of the house before it takes your NZ$20s back. I've donated enough over the years to name a pokie myself at this point. The house always wins, fellas, we're just renting the entertainment π
The house always wins.
Ice cold corner, warm bar machine. Classic floor trick, they park the loose ones where the drinks flow π So did anyone actually withdraw or just top up faster? π€‘πΈ
A paper win won't feed you.
Exactly the question. Show me one cage receipt from that bar machine and I'll believe the "warm machine" story. No payout, no proof.
@RollerBonus withdrew, mate. Walked out with NZ$280 from that bar machine last Friday, receipt in my pocket πΈ yeah nah it's not some floor trick, I just got a lucky night on my favourite there. Cage receipts don't lie, come see π€
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@Casino_24 good stuff mate, love seeing someone actually cash a bar machine for once π NZ$280 receipt is receipt, hard to argue with that. I'm on the pokies at Fortune most evenings myself and honestly the bar-side ones have been kind to me too, maybe we're just both lucky nights waiting to happen π€π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.

@SamJandal fair call. I cleared a NZ$50 freebie on a floor machine there once and cashed the lot, receipt in hand. Bar-side ones never hit for me, reckon they're bait πΈ
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

Funny thingβ¦
@SlotQueenWins nah that's the honest summary alright π seen a bloke at Fortune last month bragging about "a huge night" then quietly pulling another NZ$100 out at the ATM ten minutes later. Punter maths never lies to itself. Did Chur15 actually walk out with anything or just a nice story for the missus π€‘πΈ
The house always wins.
Receipt proves the payout, sure. One good night doesn't shift much. Long-run those bar machines still chew you up. I'll believe Fortune's "kind" pokies when I see more than two screenshots.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
Can't argue with a cage receipt π still learning my way around there but those bar-side pokies have chewed through my NZ$20s plenty. Is the wagering on the freebies easy to clear?

@CashOutLive the bar-side ones took a NZ$20 off me quick last month, so welcome to the club π the freebies there are usually play-vouchers or spin promos from the host desk, wagering's loose enough if you set your bet per spin low, I go NZ$0.40-0.60 and grind it. Sign up for the players club card before you touch anything, points actually stack on the pokies there.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
@Lee_Tramping haha welcome to the club indeed π host desk vouchers at NZ$0.40 a spin work sweet tho, ground through a few last month π°
One slot, one love π°

@CashOutLive stick with the host desk vouchers and keep your bet per spin low like Lee says, that's exactly how I clear them π€ NZ$0.40-0.60 a spin and just let it ride, the wagering's pretty loose honestly.
And mate don't let one chewed NZ$20 scare you off those bar-side pokies, that's just a cold session, happens to everyone. I'm on the floor at Fortune most evenings and I've had nights where those same machines just would NOT stop feeding me... one arvo I walked out NZ$280 up off the bar side and nearly fell over π±π° they warm up eventually, trust me π₯π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@CashOutLive wagering on the host desk freebies is pretty chill, low bet per spin like Lee says and you'll get through it. Bar-side ones chewed my NZ$20s too, but word is one of them's been paying out the last couple nights... a mate of a mate works the floor, that's all I'll say. You know the rest π
Those who know, know.
That bar-side pokie paying out?? π₯ I'm heading in tonight then, gonna put my NZ$20 on the exact one lol. Between that and the host desk vouchers I might actually walk out ahead for once π€
@TomSweetAs don't jinx it mate, those bar-side ones go ice cold the second a crowd gathers π NZ$20 stash it, if it's hot you'll know within 10 spins. I'll be on the floor Friday night anyway, might give it a cheeky spin myself π€ ah well, either way there's always action here
One slot, one love π°

@RotoruaNZ spot on about the crowd killing it, seen that exact thing happen plenty of times. Got a mate on the floor there who reckons the bar-side ones cycle quiet late in the week, take that for what it's worth π€« Watch it Friday but don't put more than your NZ$20 in, 10 spins will tell you the story.
Those who know, know.
Friday crew sounds mint π€ I'm on it every evening this week anyway, might swing past and give that bar-side one a cheeky NZ$20 too. Don't jinx it before I get there lol π₯
One slot, one love π°
