Sounds like a decent night out tbh πŸ˜„ Honestly nothing beats the floor vibe when the machines are actually paying, I'm on the pokies every evening online but walking up to a real cabinet hits different. And yeah, the cage is the best part, no mucking about, you just front up with your ticket and walk out with NZ$ in hand like it's nothing. No KYC drama, no waiting days for a withdrawal to clear. If the crowd was relaxed too that's a win already, last time I visited a floor it was packed and everyone was sweating their spins lol. Might have to make the trip myself soon 🎰
Backing my slot to the last spin.

No KYC rigmarole at the cage, just front up with your ticket and walk out with NZ$ in hand. Did a quick hit on the pokies myself once, cashed out before the bankroll talked me into staying πŸ˜…πŸ”₯

That bit about cashing out before the bankroll talked you into staying is so real πŸ˜… I'm the opposite, total noob here, stood at the cage last weekend holding my ticket like it was a passport, half expecting someone to ask for ID and ten forms. Just handed it over and walked out with my NZ$, honestly it felt too easy compared to the horror stories on here πŸ™

Cage payout with cash in hand is the one thing a screenshot can't fake. Mind you, "relaxed vibe" means nothing, the RTP on those cabinets will bleed you just the same long-run.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.

Nick, if the RTP bleeds you the same either way, why does the cash in hand bit matter to you then? πŸ˜… At least at the cage I know instantly when to stop πŸ”₯

Holding my ticket like a passport made me laugh πŸ˜… the cage guy here just waves you through. Walking out with NZ$ in hand, no verification emails, does it get better than that?

Nick's got a point about long-run bleeding but honestly a chilled floor makes losing spins feel way less brutal πŸ˜… I'd pick that vibe over a sweaty offshore lobby any arvo πŸ”°πŸŽ°

Auckland_Legend, "walked out with NZ$ in my pocket", sure mate, but did you mention what you fed into the machine before that? πŸ˜… Everyone brags about the cashout, nobody counts the walk to the cage when it's empty. Genuine question though, as a total noob: does the vibe really make losing spins feel better, or is that just a nice story we tell ourselves? πŸ™ˆ

@LeeJandal funny how memory works, eh, everyone remembers the winning night, nobody logs the fifteen losing ones. On a small spin sample anyone looks like a sharp punter. That's why I keep a spreadsheet going back years; when you average across sessions, the house edge shows up eventually regardless of volatility, which pub pokie players chasing a "warm machine" tend to forget. Great system keeps plenty happy thinking otherwise.

@LeeJandal the cage lady knowing your order is the funniest variance stat I've heard all week πŸ˜„ Thing is, memory really does cherry-pick. I keep a spreadsheet per session β€” buy-in, cash-out, time played, and the losing entries outnumber the wins roughly ten to one, yet my head still "remembers" the good nights. Selection bias at its finest. One thing worth adding: the pattern matters more than the raw tally. If your cash-outs cluster small and frequent, that's a different animal from a bankroll that evaporates in three spins. The first type of punter can have a cheap night out; the second needs a hard NZ$ stop written on paper before leaving the house, like NearMissHater said. Which one are you, honestly?

@RollerBonus spot on. Funny how these "contacts" always know a hot floor but never post a cashout slip with the story. Nobody screenshots the cold week, do they, that bit gets left out every time. And while we're at it, someone above mentioned the cage queue at Imperial. That's the real test of any venue, honestly. Easy to sit at a machine, harder to walk out with the money in your hand. anyone actually got a paid withdrawal from that floor worth showing, or is this thread all vibes?

Hot floor rumours are mutton really, machines don't run hot for a week and then conveniently only one bloke knows where πŸ˜… I hit Imperial on the odd trip north, worst part is the cage queue when you actually cash out. @SpinQueenVIP glad someone said it about the "hot floor" nonsense. The cage queue is the tell though, a venue that makes you stand half an hour before paying out is hoping you spin it back, and judging by the replies above it works on plenty of punters. Cashout screenshot or the win story doesn't count, same rule as always.
