Walked past the Impressario Casino sign and now I need answers
Saw this thread pop up and had to click π
walked past an Impressario Casino sign myself last week in town and honestly didn't know they were even a thing here. Anyone actually been inside, or is it more of a flash front with a small pokies floor? Keen to hear if it's worth a look before I wander in with my NZ$20 coffee shift money π

Saw the same sign myself and walked straight past it. Never heard of the place until it started appearing in threads, which usually means fresh marketing before anyone's proven a thing. If anyone actually gets inside, do us all a favour and post what the pokies floor looks like. And who's actually got paid out of there, that's what I want to see.
Licence first, deposit after.
Anyone else find it funny SamJandal talks like a fresh sign means a dodgy joint π
walked past one too and honestly curious if the pokies floor's any good, might pop in after work this week. If the reels are paying I'll report back, if it's dead in there... ah well
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
I keep a running sheet on every floor I've ever sat down at, and a brand-new venue is exactly where the variance on your expectations should be widest, if that makes sense. Fresh carpet and shiny cabinets tell you nothing about the maths inside the box, a flash front can hide dead older pokies, and a grubby little pub can hide the paying machines. On a small spin sample, though, one visit proves very little either way: the hit rate on any single session is mostly noise, so Auckland_Legend's "if the reels are paying I'll report back" is really just one data point, useful colour, not a verdict.
That said, keen to hear what the floor actually looks like if anyone pops in. Cabinet mix, denom spread, whether it's all multi-game screens or there's proper reel pokies in there. My rule of thumb for a new joint is treat the first couple of sessions as reconnaissance: NZ$20-40 stake spread you'd normally burn anyway, and you're paying for information rather than chasing a result.
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet π
NeonMaster's spreadsheet habit makes two of us, though mine lives in a battered exercise book from my teaching days rather than a proper sheet. I'd agree with his point about keeping expectations loose at a new venue - you genuinely can't judge a floor off one visit anyway, because a Tuesday arvo session tells you almost nothing compared to a Friday night crowd.
My caveat would be this: hit rate matters more than RTP when you're sizing up a new joint in person, and neither shows itself in a single sitting. Give it three or four visits at modest NZ$ stakes before deciding whether the floor suits your style of play. If someone does get inside, what I'd actually want to know is the machine mix, how many older mechanical-style cabinets versus the newer video slots, because that tells you who they think their punter is. π

Bit lost on something NeonMaster said π
what does "variance on your expectations" actually mean for a new pokies floor? Total noob here, is it just fancy talk for not knowing if the reels are paying or dead? π
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Pretty much yeah, fancy talk for "no idea if it's paying or dead yet" π With a new floor nobody's seen enough spins to know if the pokies are loose or tight, so don't expect anything either way. I walked past that Impressario sign too and I'm hanging to find out - if Auckland_Legend reports back first I'll take his word for it π°π₯
One slot, one love π°
A fresh sign on the street tells you nothing about the floor, mate. I judge a venue by one thing only: someone posting an actual cashout receipt from the cage. Nobody's done that here yet, so colour me unconvinced. Walk in, spend a tenner on the pokies, and report back with a withdrawal slip, then we'll talk.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Win24's got a point, a cashout receipt would shut me up too π still gonna walk past and have a cheeky look at the floor meself though π°
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
Cashout receipt or it didn't happen, agree π but I'm still gonna pop in for a cheeky spin, found my all-time favourite on some random new floor once, so ya never know π°
Honestly if you're near the sign just duck in and eyeball the pokies floor, that tells you more than any receipt debate π
walked into a random pub with a couple of machines once and ended up on a slot that paid for my whole arvo, that's the whole point of a cheeky look... anyway someone post the receipt when it happens π€π°
Backing my slot to the last spin.
JoshGold nailed it π eyeballing the floor beats any receipt debate, that's how I found the slot I'm on every evening... paid me NZ$400 off a tiny deposit once π€π₯
The hit is close, I can feel it.
Might duck past and have a squiz myself π
I'd want to check their wagering rules on any signup bonus before touching it though. Anyone know if they do free spins?
New here, soaking it up.

@Numbers_Value no idea re free spins, just ask at the counter when you're in π and check the small print before grabbing any bonus, always π₯

@Numbers_Value word is their signup deal's still got legs, read the wagering fine print before you touch it though π€« free spins come and go, worth asking at the counter like the others said. And keep an eye on one of their pokies near the back... let's just say a mate of mine's been grinning all week π
Those who know, know.

@AllInEveryTime_Mode NZ$400 off a tiny deposit, that's the dream run ngl π I had one of those evenings once, walked in basically for a squiz and ended up staying till close - machine just kept giving, had me grinning like an idiot at like 1am π€π° Feeds the missus jokes about my "second job" every night lol
Gotta admit I'm keen to see what floor Impressario is running, if they've got the good stuff it could become a new favourite π€ ah well, only one way to find out π₯π°
One slot, one love π°
@AllInEveryTime_Mode those dream sessions are why I keep going back π I'm on my favourite every evening and it still owes me a run like that NZ$400 one... if you're near the counter anyway ask about the free spins, worst case they say no π€π°

@ChrisBonus744 mate "still owes me a run" is my favourite line, machine's not a mate who owes you a shout π I've sat at those back pokies feeding in NZ$20 after NZ$20 waiting for "my turn", the only one who got a run was the floor manager counting the take. But hey, ask about the free spins, worst case they say no, best case you clear the wagering and find out it was a win on paper π€‘πΈ
The house always wins.

@SlotQueenWins them back pokies paid me a beauty last night tho, NZ$20 in and boom π€ maybe you just gotta show up every evening like me, ah well π
@Napier NZ$20 in and boom is sweet as, but showing up every evening expecting it to repeat is how a bankroll dies π° take the hit, bank it, walk.
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
Total noob here, but that wagering fine print tip is gold π made that mistake with my first bonus, took forever to clear. Does the signup deal count your spins separately or all together? π€
lol @SlotQueenWins the machine definitely doesn't owe me, I know, but I still go back every evening like it's a mates place π far as the spins question, just ask at the counter, took me two minutes and they sorted it no drama π°π€

lol SlotQueen you just haven't found your slot yet, when it hits it HITS π₯π€ like Napier said NZ$20 in and boom, that's the feeling right there. Been feeding the same one every evening after shift and it pays me back more often than not, this slot pays, simple as π°π°...

SlotQueen's spot on about the "my turn" thinking but I don't care π fed NZ$20 into my favourite after work and boom, she pays, this slot pays π₯π€...

@NearMissHater bro banking and walking is cursed logic for a slot I love π if I'm on it every evening that's the whole point, the session IS the fun, the win is just dessert π€ feeding NZ$20 and getting that boom feeling beats sitting on the couch watching telly imo. Impressario's floor is decent anyway, always action here π₯π°

@WildWin77 each to their own mate, but turned 50 into 5k once by walking when the machine paid. dessert's nicer on the way out the door π ah well, we grind on
Busted more than you've deposited π

@Wellington_Mate that "she pays every time" vibe is how a NZ$20 arvo turns into NZ$100 down real quick π run 50c a spin, cash out when it hits π°
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ
JandalKiwi that 50 into 5k story is exactly why I bank it. Cleared a bonus on the pokies at a Rotorua pub once, cashed out same arvo, and if I'd stayed for "one more spin" I'd have handed most of it back π₯
WildWin77 I get the dessert angle, but for me the fun budget and the win are two different things. If the machine pays, I'm walking to the cage before I talk myself into rounding it down π anyone else set a hard cashout number before they even sit down?
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
Nah but this thread's got me keen to check out the Impressario floor next time I'm in town π JandalKiwi 50 into 5k is the dream mate, fair play. I banked NZ$60 off my favourite last week and yeah nah, walked straight out the door before temptation got me π€ mostly though I'm back on it every evening anyway... ah well
