Big Lucky Casino trip report: keen to hear if anyone else got burned
Not gonna lie, this thread caught my eye π
I only made my first casino trip recently and I'm still working out how the cage stuff works, so hearing about anyone getting burned is exactly the kind of thing I want to read before my next one.
Quick question for those who've been: when things went sideways for you at Big Lucky, was it on the floor with the pokies or at the cage when cashing out? Because I keep hearing the floor and the cage are two totally different experiences under the rules here, and honestly I wouldn't even know who to talk to if a payout went wrong π€ Keen to hear the stories, cheers to whoever started this.
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
FreespinLord, if you're new to the floor scene, watch the cage side of things before you sit down, that's where most punters get burned. My own trips to the land joints here have been mostly fine, the pokies pay what they pay and the staff sort out queries on the spot, but I've heard enough stories in this thread about slow cage drama to know it happens.
My rule is simple bankroll discipline: only take in what I'm happy to lose in one session, and the moment I bank a decent hit, cash it out same visit. Never leave winnings sitting on the expectation you'll come back and "build on it" next trip π
Anyone here actually had the cage short-change them, or was it more the wagering on comps that stung people? That's the bit I'd want to hear about before my next run.
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
Keen to hear the OP's actual story too. If someone got short-paid at the cage, post the receipt or it never happened. Gambling Act 2003 means the venue answers for the floor, so document it.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Got to agree the cage side is where I keep my eyes open too. Cleared a decent hit at one of the land venues here a while back and the trick was counting it twice at the counter before walking off, staff were fine about it, no drama. Keen for OP's actual story though π if you got short-paid, doco it and take it up on the spot, that's when they sort it fastest. πΈ
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ
Hard out on the receipt thing. I never leave the counter till the count's done twice and the slip's in my pocket, saved me a headache more than once. π°
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
Counting twice and keeping the slip sounds like solid advice, thanks team π First trip is coming up for me so this helps heaps. Is the slip still enough proof if the venue tries to dispute it later? π
New here, soaking it up.
@Numbers_Value slip's proof enough, yeah, took a photo of it too when a cage tried stalling me once. Enjoy the first trip, the house still eats your wallet eventually ππΈ
A paper win won't feed you.

@ModelLab arguing with the cage is like arguing with a referee. You've lost before you open your mouth π Photo of the slip too, learned that one the hard way πΈ
The house always wins.

@SlotQueenWins mate you're right, I once tried arguing a slip at the cage and honestly I had better odds getting the NZ$ back off a pokie π Now I just photograph everything like it's crime scene evidence. Bank's gone either way, may as well keep the receipts for the laugh π€£
@LeeJandal hard out on photographing everything π I do the same now after a mate lost a slip in his jacket and copped it at the cage. Though gotta say Big Lucky have never once given me grief, cashed a decent NZ$ hit there last weekend and the crew were sweet as π€π₯
Backing my slot to the last spin.
@ModelLab true re the cage, though I once stalled a payout by counting my NZ$600 twice at the counter, got paid in full. Slow and boring beats fast and sorry π

@ModelLab house always wins arguments yeah but I've never had drama at the cage personally, staff at Big Lucky were sweet as when I cashed up. Counted my NZ$ payout nice and slow too, no rush, they waited π
π° Don't count fast mate, that's how mistakes happen!

@JoshGold same here mate, Big Lucky staff have been sweet as every cash-up I've done, no drama at all π
π° I'm on it every evening and the cage crew know me by now lol. Slow counting is the way, nearly flubbed a payout myself once by rushing π€π₯
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@Nick_Napier same, the cage crew there are mint, they've paid me out sweet as every time even when I was bouncing off the walls after a big hit π€ cashed a decent NZ$ win last weekend and the lady counted it slow while I was literally vibrating, no drama at all π₯ honestly people who rush the cage do it to themselves lol, what's the hurry, the money ain't going anywhere π

@JoshGold good tip on slow counting π
I'm still learning bonuses and only did my first proper cash-up at a cage recently, my hands were shaking so they probably would've waited forever anyway lol π€£ does the wagering side of things ever come up at the cage or is that all sorted before you get there?

@CashOutLive nah the wagering stuff gets sorted on the floor before you even walk up, cage just pays π° first time I cashed a decent NZ$ hit at Big Lucky my hands were shaking too and the crew just laughed and took their sweet time, no drama at all π₯π°
burned?? nah, Big Lucky's been sweet as every visit for me, cage crew top notch ππ° spun my favourite pokie there last week, hit big, cashed out no dramas π₯π°
Backing my slot to the last spin.
@Wellington_Mate same here mate, zero drama at that cage ever π€ my favourite pokie there pays every time I'm in, cleaned up a decent NZ$ hit on it last weekend and the crew didn't even blink π₯ people whinging about the place clearly haven't spent enough evenings on the floor π°
Backing my slot to the last spin.
Burned?? π nah I'm on that floor every evening and never seen drama once. Smashed a decent NZ$ hit on my all-time favourite pokie there last week, cage sorted me in minutes π€π₯ people moaning probably just had a rough night and blame the venue, ah well
burned?? hard out π Best provider hands down and Big Lucky's my second home tbh, cashed a beauty there last week, crew were champs π₯π°π€
@Napier same energy bro, that floor's been sweet as to me too π had a wicked session on my favourite pokie there last week and the cage didn't even blink, sorted in minutes π€ honestly reckon some punters just chase their losses then blame the venue when the luck runs out π₯π°

Funny how every "burned" thread gets flooded by blokes cashing out sweet as π For the quiet ones, word is one floor over there's about to pay... those who know, know π€«

@QueenOfSpins_Lux oops @QueenOfSpins_Luck ha, that "one floor about to pay" talk is how I get mugged every time π but nah, that place has always been sweet as to me, ah well π€π₯
