Guts Casino and NZ players
Been keeping a sheet on variance and RTP for years and I still wouldn't touch a site until I've seen the regulator myself. Guts taking NZ players is one thing, but offshore means nobody local is checking their maths, so the onus falls on us punters to verify the licence before depositing. Has anyone actually opened their footer and confirmed which body they're under? If not, that's step one, always.

That actually makes me nervous now 😅 I put a small NZ$ deposit in recently without even thinking to check who regulates them, total noob move. Where do you actually find the licence info on these sites, is it usually buried in the footer somewhere? Would appreciate the breakdown NeonMaster 🙏
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏
Bit shy asking but when you check the regulator's own site like SamJandal said, how do you actually read it to know the licence is still current? 😅

No shame in asking mate, better than freespins into the void 😅 Current licence basically means the regulator's site shows them as active right now, not just that they once held one. Usually a name, number and status. So if Guts' footer shows a regulator, punch that number into the regulator's own search and see if it comes up live. Learned that the hard way ages ago, got burned once... ah well 🔥🎰

Honestly this thread saved me a headache, cheers Auckland_Legend for the breakdown 😅 Made my first deposit recently and never even thought to check the status bit, just saw the logo. Is there an easy way to spot a suspended one?
Good question, and the answer is usually staring at you on the regulator's register itself. A current licence shows an active status and typically an expiry date out in the future; a suspended or lapsed one will say exactly that. Suspended, revoked, expired, and often the operator's name gets pulled from the active list entirely. If a footer logo links nowhere, or the register only shows an old licence number that no longer resolves, that's your red flag. I'd also check that the licence number on the site matches the register entry letter for letter, because copying a legit operator's number is an old trick.
Worth adding my two cents on the wider thread: no offshore casino holds a local licence at this point, so the verification burden sits squarely with us punters. A logo is marketing, a register entry is a fact. Chris, you've got the right instinct now. Check the status before your next deposit, and if anything looks stale, ask here first.
RTP is a long-run number.
One thing I'd add from my own routine: check the register on a weekday, not right after you've made a deposit at 11pm. I keep a wee spreadsheet of the sites I use and the status I saw, with the date next to it. Sounds pedantic, but if a licence quietly lapses six months down the track, you've got a record of what you relied on.
And Chris, to answer your question, a suspended entry usually gets flagged plainly on the regulator's page, sometimes with a note attached. If the status field makes you squint or the logo on the footer doesn't match the name on the register, treat that as your answer. Trust the register, never the footer. 📊

@Chris_Vegas mate, I check the register quicker than my bank balance after "one more spin, promise" 🤣 suspended ones literally say suspended, good as gold.

@Chur15 hahaha that bank balance line hit too close home 😂 But nah, Guts gets an unfair wrap on here sometimes. I'm on it every evening and the licence status has been sweet whenever I've actually bothered looking, which admittedly is like once a year 🤣
RobReels is right tho, the register literally spells out suspended, no squinting required. Anyone claiming their fave casino is "gimped" without checking first just wants something to blame for a bad sesh 🔥🎰 Who's keen for a proper look at the whole licence before depositing tho? Be honest 😅

@CasinoLady88 once a year checking coofs me exactly 😂 word is Guts has been pretty sweet lately, and those who know, know a mate's been onto something there 🤫 😏
Guts is my all-time favourite, on it every evening and cashed out NZ$400 last week no drama 🔥💰 people love to moan but the payouts been sweet for me 🤑🎰
The hit is close, I can feel it.
Guts payouts been sweet for me too, cashed out no dramas last month 🔥 Nick_Napier mate NZ$400 nice one 🤑🎰

@Casino_24 nice one mate. Cleared a bonus there in profit a while back myself, withdrawals went through no dramas. Roll on whether Guts holds up long-run though 😅🎰
Bankroll discipline wins 💸
Sweet, two blokes cashing out NZ$400ish in a month and suddenly Guts is the promised land 😂 Did you even withdraw Nick, or did it go straight back in like usual? Mate of mine hammered it for a year, guaranteed minus long-run if you ask me 🤡💸
A paper win won't feed you.

@Nick_Napier solid hit mate, NZ$400 out the door is a result. I've had decent runs on Guts myself, cleared a wagering there once and actually cashed instead of dumping it back in 😅 RollerBonus has a point though, playing every evening is how the house grinds you down. Do you track your deposits against withdrawals or just ride the swings? 💸
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
