Casino Kingdom, anyone else done the trust checklist before a visit?
Love that you packed ID for the cage, total noob here so I hadn't even thought of that π
Did my first floor trip recently with just a hard NZ$ limit in my head and it honestly saved me. Also figured the venue was the safer pick since the online offshore stuff isn't licensed here yet π€ does the cage actually ask for ID much?
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
ID in the wallet, that's rookie stuff everyone learns the hard way aye π
my all-time favourite session at a floor was pure vibes, hit big last night on the pokies ngl, walked out grinning like an idiot. Honestly with the offshore online stuff being a grey zone here, the floor trip just feels safer, at least the machine's in front of you. Keep that hard NZ$ limit, saved me more times than I can count... mostly. ah well π₯π°π°
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
The ID thing only clicked for me after a mate got bounced at the cage mid-session because his licence photo was out of date on his phone. Since then it lives in the wallet every trip. And I'd add one more to your mental list, Queenstown: decide your loss limit before you walk in and write it down somewhere. Whatever number you keep "in your head" has a funny way of stretching after two hours of dead spins.
On the volatility side, a floor trip behaves differently from online, you can't see the RTP sheet on the machine, so on a small spin sample the swings feel way harsher. I treat the pokies floor like a high-variance session: set the bankroll, expect long droughts, and when Auckland_Legend says he walked out grinning, that's the other tail of the distribution doing its job. EV is still negative either way, but at least the venue vibe makes the entertainment cost feel earned.
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet π
Auckland_Legend, "hit big" - screenshots of the cashout or it didn't happen. I've watched too many blokes walk out grinning and then quietly mention the NZ$ they fed the machine before the win. Who actually got paid, that's my question.
Floor trip itself is the right call though. My checklist is shorter than yours: cash only, no card in the venue, and the exit number written down before I walk in. Cage wanted my ID last time as well, so the OP's wallet habit checks out. Offshore sites can say whatever they like about paying, at least with the floor you physically hold the ticket and front the counter. No payout, no proof; the cage settles that argument in one visit.
Licence first, deposit after.
Bit embarrassed asking π what does the cage actually need ID for? Thought it was only for cashing out chippies, do they check it on entry too?
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Chur for asking, no shame in that π The cage basically want ID to prove you're over 18 and that you're the punter cashing the chippies. Sometimes they'll check on entry too if you look young or they're having a strict night. Went through it at Casino Kingdom myself, licence out, quick look, done, then straight to the pokies π₯π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.
FreespinLord, cage will want the physical card too, a photo on the phone doesn't cut it, seen blokes turned away over that π The floor at least, everything's above board those who know, know
Those who know, know.
QueenOfSpins is right about the physical card, seen it myself at the cage. Caveat: even with ID sorted, keep that hard NZ$ limit, a win story without a cashout receipt means nothing to me.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Cheers for the ID tips, that helps π
Total noob here so all of this is new to me. I did my checklist before my first Casino Kingdom trip too, cash set aside, ID in wallet for the cage, and a hard NZ$ limit written on a note in my phone so I couldn't talk myself out of it halfway through the night π
Didn't even think about the physical card thing, good to know before I rock up thinking a photo on my phone would do. Honestly felt way better walking into an actual venue knowing the offshore online side of things isn't licensed here anyway. At least on the floor there's a cage and a real person to deal with. Question though, do the floor staff ever check ID at the pokies themselves, or is it really just entry and the cage?
Cheers for the ID tips, that helps π

@Chris_Vegas welcome aboard mate π checklist already sorted before your first trip, that's better prep than half the regulars on the floor. Nick's right about the note in the phone tho, I've talked myself out of my own limits enough times lol. Personally I leave the card at home AND tell a mate, belt and braces π
Backing my slot to the last spin.
@Chris_Vegas solid prep for a noob, more than most first-timers manage π₯ Only thing I'd say is leave the eftpos card at home like the others said, cash only or the night runs long lol. First trip to Kingdom for me was magic, hit a decent one on the reels and been back every week since π°π°
One slot, one love π°
A note in the phone won't save you if you've left your card in the car and the pokies have already eaten the cash - seen that exact scene play out more than once. Win24 has it right though: a win story with no cashout receipt is just a story. I did the same checklist years back before my first floor trip, ID in the wallet, cash only, and the one thing I'd add is take the note seriously - I watched a mate blow through his NZ$ limit twice in one night because he "felt due". On the floor at least you know the machines are regulated and the cage will actually pay you; offshore online stuff isn't licensed locally, so a bad night there can end with no recourse at all. Got a cashout screenshot? Then I'll believe the win.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
Reading this thread made me realise my first trip checklist was pretty much the same π
ID, cash only, NZ$ limit I told a mate about so he'd actually hold me to it. The note-in-the-phone thing would've failed for me too, I'd just talk myself out of it. Do most of you carry a set amount of cash and leave the card in the car, or is that overkill for a night on the pokies?

@BigWinOrBust4Life telling a mate your NZ$ limit is the real trick, that note in the phone is worthless the second you're a few drinks deep π
I do the same before every Kingdom trip. Once the cash is gone I'm done, card stays home. Saved me plenty of nights where I would've chased π°
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

@NearMissHater this is so true, mate's holding your NZ$ limit works way better than any note π
I leave my card in the car and take out a set amount only, once it's gone I'm on the pokies watching my mate chase π and @CasinoLady88 don't care what anyone says, my favourite reel at the Kingdom hits sweet for me, that's all the proof I need π₯π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.
Mate I run the same rule online for bonus hunting, cashout receipt or it didn't hit π
left the card at home last Kingdom trip, best discipline call I've made π₯
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

@AlmostHadItSurvivor card at home is the only rule that actually sticks π
word is one of the Kingdom reels has been running warm lately too... those who know, know π€«
Those who know, know.
That "running warm" rumour is exactly the kind of thing my spreadsheet exists for. I track my session results on the Kingdom floor and I've never seen one machine hold a warm streak worth chasing, a good night on the reels feels like a pattern, but the variance does the talking. RTP and volatility are two different animals: the long-run return is fixed, while how the wins are spaced swings wildly night to night.
The checklist talk in this thread is solid though. I set my NZ$ loss limit before I leave the house, same as most of you, and I write down the session result afterwards so the memory doesn't inflate. Hit rate matters more than RTP for how a night feels - a game that pays small and often keeps you sane even when the house edge grinds. Anyone else actually log their sessions, or am I the only one with a spreadsheet open at the kitchen table? π
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet π
@WinLive spreadsheet or not, when a reel pays me sweet it FEELS warm and that's half the fun π
had a monster hit on my favourite last night, up a decent chunk of NZ$ and I'm calling it skill lol π°π° won't hear a word against the Kingdom, variance can do one π₯π°
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
@CasinoLady88 π "calling it skill" is the most honest thing on this whole thread, love it. My all-time favourite at the Kingdom ran cold for weeks then hit big last night, nearly lost my voice screaming π₯ spreadsheet man can keep his averages, I'll take the feels every time π°π°
Went through the checklist before my last trip and set a hard NZ$ loss limit for the session, saved my backside when the first two machines ran ice cold. Cleared a small deposit bonus on the third reel though, so ended the night up and walked to the cage same evening. That's the whole game, cash out while you're ahead π₯πΈ
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ
@AlmostHadIt_FC69 the hard cap discipline is the one part of the checklist I'd never drop either. That said, clearing a deposit bonus on reel three then cashing same night, that's variance being kind, nothing more. Two ice cold machines then a hot one, your spin sample was tiny; next trip the same pattern can just as easily go the other way, which is why the cap matters regardless of how the night ends. π
RTP is a long-run number.
Checklist is exactly right, I do the same. Hard NZ$ cap, walk to the cage when it's done. Cashing out in time is everything π°
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ
WildWin_Queen nailed it, the feels win every time π₯ did the checklist thing once before heading to the Kingdom, forgot half of it by reel three π
but nah that place has been good to me, my all-time favourite slot there just keeps paying when it matters... anyway cage run same night like AlmostHadIt said is the only way to finish, respect π€π°π°

@FreeSpins_Master NZ$430 is a dream haul for me, I'd be grinning for a week π
I've only just started hitting the pokies after work so my best night is way more modest, but reading this makes me want to give that slot a spin next time I'm in. Do you remember roughly what your bet size was, or is that a silly question? Still learning all this π

WildWin_Queen that screamin-at-the-reels energy is so me π did the checklist exactly once too, lasted til reel two then chucked it. Ah well, back on it this evening π₯

@Napier love how the checklist lasted two reels π grinning the whole drive home is sweet as, but did they let you withdraw without a fuss at the cage? Cause a win on paper only counts once the cash is in your pocket, and the house always wins eventually π€‘πΈ
The house always wins.

@InRTPweTrust_Nation cage counting it out in front of you, that's the old school way, I rate that. You're right tho, that NZ$430 was variance smiling, could've walked out with nothing. Turned 50 into 5k once on the oldThunderstruck days and gave most of it back the next visit, so I know exactly how that feels π ah well, we grind on.
Busted more than you've deposited π
