Was at Advantage on a Saturday myself a while back and the cage queue was honestly chaotic π
is it just me or do the staff there all give you a slightly different answer depending who's on shift? I asked one simple thing about cashing out and walked away more confused than when I arrived. Would love to know if anyone's actually got a straight answer out of them π€
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Same thing happened to me at the cage on a Saturday, asked one simple question about a withdrawal, got three stories. Now I get everything in writing before I queue up πΈ
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

Wait, in writing? How do you even get that at a cage π
I only asked about cashing out a win and got three different answers too. Still learning bonuses, does anyone know if this is normal for their floor?
New here, soaking it up.
Three answers from three staff feels like a pokie bonus round, except you never win π€£ Last time I got a straight answer at a cage was when I asked where the toilets were. Now I just take whatever the first person says and treat the other two as flavour text, cheaper on my heart than my bankroll anyway ππΏ
Was there a couple of Saturdays back too, asked about cashing a decent win and got completely munted explanations, one even contradicted what the sign at the cage said π°π
Bankroll discipline wins πΈ
Chur15 that toilet line is too real π€£ the only straight answer I got was the security bloke telling me where the exit was after my bank donated to the casino again π
@LeeJandal "bank donated" π the house doesn't even need a marketing budget with punters like us doing it for free. Truth is the cage staff aren't paid to give straight answers, the confusion keeps you standing there longer with money in your pocket. Did you even withdraw anything that night or did it all go back in? π€‘πΈ
A paper win won't feed you.
This thread is making me feel better about my own cage confusion π
I went on a Saturday night too, asked a simple question about cashing out and basically got shrugged at twice. Maybe they only train staff on the pokies and nothing else? Glad it's not just me being a noob anyway π

π RollerBonus reckon the confusion keeps you standing there with money in your pocket and honestly that tracks. I hit big last night on my all-time favourite though, cashed out no dramas at all, maybe they're nicer when the machine's been singing π€π° Ah well, could've just been my lucky night.
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.

@Auckland_Legend one good cashout is a sample size of one, mate. Same as hitting a bonus on your first hundred spins tells you nothing about the volatility. I'd back NeonMaster here: the staff were probably identical both nights and the ticket value just changed how you read them. Track it over a dozen visits before you conclude they're nicer when the machine's singing π
RTP is a long-run number.
@JoshLuck1984 interesting how everyone's read the same pattern. My take is slightly different: I reckon most cage staff treat everyone the same mild indifference, and what changes is our perception once there's a handpayβ¦
@RobReels nah mate, gotta push back on the sample size thing π
I'm at the Advantage cage most nights after milking, been going for years, and it doesn't take a statistician to notice the vibe change when your ticket's over NZ$300. Same staff, sure, but they go from half asleep to proper chatty real quick. Last time I hit big I got smiles AND a chat about my week lol π°
Perception plays a part yeah, but TrampingMad's spot on. They know who's cashing what, don't tell me they don't π°π±
Backing my slot to the last spin.
@WildWin_Queen same energy at Advantage last week π didn't even need a big ticket, just cashing NZ$200+ and suddenly they're chatty. NeonMaster's got a point but nah, I swear the service changes π°
@RobReels your maths logic would hold up if years of nights at the cage didn't all point the same way π
RngGod's spot on, past NZ$300 they're suddenly your best mate. Sample size of one? Nah, I'm the sample, on it every evening and I've seen that vibe flip too many times π₯π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.
Cage attitude usually flips once they see a decent win on the ticket, Auckland_Legend is spot on there. Had a Saturday night where the girl at the cage couldn't be bothered until I slotted a handpay, suddenly all smiles. Funny how bankroll in your hand gets better service than questions do πΈ
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
@JoshLuck1984 interesting how everyone's read the same pattern. My take is slightly different: I reckon most cage staff treat everyone the same mild indifference, and what changes is our perception once there's a handpay slip in hand. When you're winning you're walking up smiling and chatty, so they mirror it back. Confirmation bias with a payout ticket, basically.
That said, I asked the Advantage cage a straight question once about why my ticket printed short on a bonus round and got a shrug and a "machines do that sometimes". No win on the ticket that day, so maybe RollerBonus has a point after all. Either way, the maths of the machine didn't care how politely I was treated - the EV is still negative whether they smile or not π
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet π

@JoshLuck1984 haha so true, they flip real quick once the ticket looks juicy π cashed out a decent one Thursday night and suddenly I was treated like a VIP lol π€π°

Word is the Advantage cage warms up round NZ$300+, same as RngGod says π my physio mate reckons the staff get briefed on the big punters too, you know the rest π€«
Those who know, know.

@Rotorua_Local haha that physio mate theory made me laugh, but honestly I believe it π cashed NZ$340 at the Advantage cage a few months back and the lady went from autopilot to proper chatty in seconds, even offered me a coffee. Didn't mind one bit, felt like a champ π€ NZ$300 flip is real, anyone who says otherwise hasn't queued up there on a Friday night π₯π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.
lol the NZ$300 flip is real, I've watched the cage lady go from dead eyes to full chat in like one ticket π honestly don't care, makes cashing out a decent hit feel even better π° anyone else find the Advantage pokies near the cage loose as on a Friday arvo or just me?
